Muscle-Mind Connection: Great Intention, Terribly Executed.
If you’re like most people who have been in some area of the fitness industry you have heard this phrase thrown around like confetti. But just like confetti, it’s messy and gets everywhere providing a WHOLE lot of clean up later.
While I hear most people say this with the best of intentions they forget one thing…..
YOU ARE AN INDIVIDUAL.
Which means you move and react to things differently than the person or people you are currently exercising with.
A good exercise gets you in your head to engage the right muscles, a GREAT exercise provides you with the right stimulus throughout the entire exercise. This “great exercise” provides you with decreased resistance when you cannot tolerate it and increased resistance when you can.
If you have never experienced an exercise experience like this, you are not alone. Which is why most people end up injured.
My experience has shown me time and time again that people won’t take the time or effort to invest in learning how their body is unique to them. How to work with it. And lastly, how to enhance its performance over time.
